(Good thing I don't have to use private messages to talk to you lot since there's three of you. I heard Jones got well cheesed at Bones--heh, that rhymes!--'cause Bones sent her a PM she couldn't read 'cause she was third on the list. I bet that happens all the time, people forgetting you can't have more than two.)

Anywiz. Last night some of us were messing about and came up with a game you play with switching spells that turned out to be a real laugh! You need to get a bunch of stuff together--like we had Bundy's bunny slippers and Towler's omnioculars and my wrist sheath and a load of other things--nobbly rubber balls and some ribbons and a bell and just a load of stuff--and then you take one thing and swap something on it with something on one of the others, and then you pass it to the next person and they have to swap something on it with something from one of their things and then you pass it on. It gets really mad!

It's a bit complicated putting it all right at the end, of course. I think Towler's omnioculars have still got bunny ears.

Anywiz, I was thinking you might want to play. (It'd be great with jam!!!!)

And Nev, you should totally try it. You were hiding out last night so we wouldn't ask, weren't you?

Well, I picked up some new stuff from summer hols, so I could bring that, yeah. Would it be just us, or would Bundy and Towler and them be there too?

I was thinking it'd just be us. I still haven't cornered Neville to get him to do it, but I think he'll be more keen if there aren't a load of other people who might rubbish him afterwards for being naff. I mean, I think he can do this stuff, but it's harder when people are watching.

Um, anyway. It'd be okay, I guess--with me, I mean--if someone else came along. Was there someone you wanted to ask?

I'd say we'd bring Evelyn along, too, but I don't think she's up to the switching spells it takes to play. But I bet Hydra's already good at them. Unless they haven't started that yet. I can't remember when we did those last year.

Anywiz, we could play something else if she can't pick it up or doesn't want to do it. Or, y'know, we could just listen to music.

I don't blame him for keeping his head down and all. It's the best thing to do, really. And people've stopped talking about it over the journals at least, which is a good thing.

I'm nervous, though. I mean, it was fun to write and all, but I'm worried he'll think it's rubbish. Just kid stuff, you know? And that he's just humouring Lucius.

Well, I guess he knows you're a kid from the start. And even if he's doing it 'cause he wants Mr Malfoy to owe him a favour or whatever, he's still asked you and he's going to hear just like he would any other songwriter. And, I mean, they all got their start sometime, didn't they? And, y'know, some of the really big musicians are just a few years out of school, so they couldn't have been a lot older than you when they started. Right?

So, y'know, even if he doesn't take this song, it's a start. And you'll write more of them, I bet, until some band buys one and makes it famous!

So that's why Jones was in such a snit this week. I was rather wondering.

Anyway the switch game was fun. I think all large textbooks SHOULD have furry handles, honestly, it makes them much easier to carry.

Yeah, I was coming out of lunch right in front of Abbott Friday, and she was telling someone else about it. I mean, you'd think she'd just have asked Bones what she wrote and remind her you can't see it if a PM's got more than two people on, but no, she got totally shirty about it, and I guess it got Bones all upset before she found out what she'd even done wrong.

And, yeah, the handles were awesome! Are you going to keep them on?

We'll have to collect stuff--anything that's got weird textures or shapes or colours or whatever--and do it again.

Oh, and, yeah. You were right about the jam. Sticky isn't really a great texture to use. Since some of that stuff you wouldn't really want to lick, anyway.

It would never occur to Jones that Bones did that on accident and not as a purposeful snub. She thinks Bones is still cross with her because she gossipped about Bones' blood status to Patil and Brown back during first year.

Though I suppose it's just as well she did, the later your blood status comes out the crosser everyone is with you. Look at Corner.
