I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good

Hermione?

We all want to know if you're all right. I mean, Pansy said last night that you didn't look well when you came back to their common room. Is there anything you need that we could get you?

What did they do to you?

What can we do?

We just

We've been talking about it, Nev and the twins and Lee, y'know, and we want to know how to help. Because it's not right. And it's not okay that this sort of thing happens. And it'll just keep happening, and probably get worse. And we can't just go on pretending we don't notice.

I mean, we couldn't help Terry before he left, but we're not just going to let awful things happen to you.

Have either of you others seen her today yet? Is she okay?

They came back and I really haven't seen her since. She's been in her cubby, and I'm a bit worried Harry took away her diary again.

Fred and George, did you ever get your extra diary from home? If you pass it to me I could get it to her, and then she'd have something to write in.

She was definitely cruciated, she had the signs. I got her some of the potion Madam Pomfrey gives students, but I'm not sure when she had a chance to get it, people were in the common room until really late. It empties out at dinner and she might have had a chance to get it then, unless she didn't see my note, or was sleeping. I checked in the morning and it was gone, so I think she did find it at some point.

Thanks so much for giving her the potion, Sally-Anne. It does definitely help. Well, nothing can help you when you're going through it. But it does help with the muscle aches afterward.

Do you know who did it to her? Was it Marvolo?

Is there anything else that any of us could that could help, Terry?

The only thing I can think of is, it would be good if you could find a way to make sure she stays extra warm. Like giving her an extra blanket or two. That helps, too. Sometimes people shiver a lot after getting hexed with that curse, and the shivers make the muscle aches worse.

Oh, good thought, and easier than the potion or the diary, because I think the elves take care of her bedding with everyone else's, and they don't have to wait until the common room's empty to get into her cubby.

I don't know what exactly happened. Neither Harry nor Draco wanted to talk about it.

If I were going to guess -- I would guess that Harry cruciated her, but because someone else said he had to, or because he thought if he did, that would be the end of it and nothing worse would happen. Because he looked like someone who'd done Dark Arts, but absolutely not like someone who'd enjoyed it. He looked like he hated himself, and not like he had succeeded in convincing himself that she deserved it. Does that make sense?

Draco was trying really hard to be pleasant at the party but he looked furious at the whole world, when he let it slip.

We'll pass on mine. At dinner, since I missed you at lunch.

That's fine. I won't be able to hide it for her until the common room's empty, anyway.
