Oh, hello Ronald.

I'm not doing much. Headmaster Dolohov gave me some of the American Witches books to read, and I've been reading them. And Karo Moon gave me some fashion magazines.

Y'know, I heard that people are asking amazing prices for your Purest Sparkle issues. Over the journals, y'know? I guess there are journals where people sell things like that all the time.

And you're dead famous now!


American Witches, eh? I remember when everyone was reading those.

Maybe I'll get back to modeling now. They'll have lots more, in that case.

And yeah, I was bored and asked if I could have something to read and I guess Antonin reads them when he wants something light and diverting so he gave me a stack.

Why'd you give it up? I mean, do you wish you hadn't?

Seems an odd sort of thing for Dolohov to be interested in reading. I mean, aren't they written for, er, younger people? And witches, mostly, yeah?

I think modeling was the only thing I ever decided to do truly on my own.

But Mum didn't like that, so she took it away from me. I mean, you remember how I went into an 'exhausted collapse' and there was gossip I was pregnant (laughably enough)...that was because Mum had Madam Pomfrey give me potions to trigger it, to make me think I was giving it up on my own.

So yeah. I miss it. And I miss making my own choices.

About the book, well, you know, we all have some dumb thing we like reading, right? Like Professor Vector reads fashion magazines. I guess for Antonin it's American Witches books.

I remember you were dead exhausted, yeah. And everyone was worried. And before that, you were cross at everyone a lot. Me, especially, I think. Reckon I must've been annoying.

So which of the magazines would you want to work for? Or are you hoping one of the designers or shops will ask you to work for them?

Yeah, I probably was cross a lot. It was confusing, being Obliviated so much by our family. It left me not knowing who I was or what I wanted.

I don't know which magazine I'd work for. I guess at this point... how many are still publishing? It's kind of awful right now, with the Order running around murdering people. Even sometimes right in New London (like poor Virgil Crispin, you must have felt awful about that given he was your Sponsor, wasn't he? After Avery died, anyway.)

Are things closing in New London, then? Because of security?

Huh. I was just reading about there being a festival planned for Little Venice for the weekend. D'you think that's not going to happen, then?

You know, I haven't been out of Buckingham much, so I'm not really sure how much is open and what's closed. I can't imagine they'll let me I'll be attending the festival. It might be a small enough area that MLE can keep a proper watch over things.

Are they not letting you go places?

Oh, say. That reminds me.

When you were talking about that time we got caught listening in to Mum and Dad talking that time? It made me think about the twins and their extendable ears, y'know? And how hacked off Mum was about those? But that was actually sort of hilarious, yeah? Since no amount of shouting Mum could do would ever change the two of them.

Is that how you remember it? Just a lot of shouting?

Yeah.

Yeah, that's what I recall.

The Twins already knew about the Order by then, so those ears were for them to eavesdrop on us, not for them to eavesdrop on the Order, only we found them. The Twins were just furious. They cast some sort of hex that made it feel like my ear was going to explode, I think they cast something similar on you, and then Mum caught us all and blamed them for possibly exposing the Order, not that I realised at the time what she was so furious about

it was ugly. Not just shouting.

I don't remember that at all. Just Mum shouting.

And Dad coming to talk her round and smooth things over.

I guess it figures you remember Dad always being perfect.

That's how they wanted us to think about him, you know.

They just erased anything that would've made him look bad.

I don't remember any of that.

He was kind. Anyone would say that. He worked for everything we had and always wanted the best for all of us.
