Yeah. So yesterday was loads of fun. Shopping and then the tea club.

Well, Mum's in a strop because Percy's moving out. To live with Clearwater. She tried to keep me and Ginny from realising that part, which was a laugh because I mean, it's dead obvious, innit? Anywiz, her mood isn't a laugh at all. Wouldn't be surprised if the WWN put out a weather advisory because of the storm brewing out here in Devon.

And then I got an owl from Bundy. And Prefect letters are out. Well, you saw what Patil wrote, I guess. Anywiz, Bundy didn't get it, so they passed her over. I mean it's not even close between her and either of the others in marks or anything else.

And I saw what Pansy said about it being Greengrass in your lot, which, still-- you're better in everything. And I know you said it could be rough in your House if you'd got it, but it's still just so wrong.

It's just daft.

Um. So, do you still think you got the right boots? Have you been wearing them around the house? Mine are going to be fine. Best fitting shoes I've ever had, actually.

Anywiz, you're all right, aren't you? About Greengrass and all?

Oh, so CLEARWATER's his roommate? I saw what your mum wrote and I wondered why she seemed so put out. Of course he wants to find his own place, he's done with school and working, you know? The Strettons think Jeremy OUGHT to be finding his own place (and a proper job). He's hanging about because of Maureen, of course, but anyway.

About Daphs -- well, yeah. Back when Professor Siz was choosing YPL Counsellors, she talked to Professor Slughorn about me and he said that he had been considering me for a prefecture but it would have to be one or the other. Because I'm a half-blood, that was clear. Anyway, Siz asked me what I thought. And first of all, I thought it was pretty likely he'd choose Daphne in the end. I mean, it was because of Bole she got all strange after hols, and once that was straightened out she started getting back to normal. And second, I realised it would be really difficult for me to be a Prefect in Slytherin House. It might be different if I'd been Sorted into Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, but when I pictured what it would be like in Slytherin I knew I'd be one of the ones like Clearwater, who tries to throw her weight around but no one really respects her. So I told Professor Siz that I wanted to be a YPL Counsellor and I am.

Anyway. I think Daphne will be fine. I think Draco will be fine. I hate to think about Finnigan, though, and LAVENDER BROWN? It has to be Lav if it's not Katrina because if it were Parvati, Padma would know, right? Of all the people -- it should have been Katrina, and it should have been you. But really. Katrina's cleverer than Parvati and Lav put together. I guess they reckoned they could only have one half-blood prefect at a time, in Gryffindor, and they wanted Finnigan -- to kiss Rosier's arse, probably -- so then they were stuck choosing between Parvati and Lav.

Oh, and the boots, right.

Yeah, I'm happy with these. I think spending a little pocket money for the charm that makes them not chafe my ankles was the way to go, and they fit me really well.

I wonder if anyone in the CCF is going to come with those 'Etienne's Excellence' boots? We'll know if we see the shiny green stripes (even if they don't have the stripes 'illuminate themselves to provide an emergency beacon if the trekker should become lost!') WHO SPENDS THEIR MONEY ON THAT is what I want to know. Maybe Remy would, if he were going hiking?

He was sure rude to Ellie, wasn't he? The Ponds' muggleborn servant. She seemed -- well-fed, at least, and not scared of Mrs Ponds.
