Cheers to Wood!!! I heard he'd had an offer from the Arrows and I got all worked up since we've not had the best season (well, seasons,) but of course he'd take Puddlemere! I knew I should have had him sign a programme or something after that last game.

I can't even imagine, though he doesn't seem the type to let it go to his head. Are you thinking of going into Quidditch someday?

Well, I'm not even on our House's side, so I dunno. It'd be snitch, but I guess even it you're ace at Quidditch, it's not something you should count on, y'know? I remember Dad saying that to Charlie, and I reckon he's right.

Unless you're like Wood, and you can't even imagine doing anything else, ever. 'Cause, y'know, if you looked up 'Quidditch mad' in a dictionary, it'd have a picture of him.

And the teams all had different owners then--most of them, anywiz.

Seems as if they don't pay quite as massive a salary nowadays, either, but maybe it's just relative. My brother Charlie had a few teams talking to him when he left school, and I remember him saying how things changed 'cause of inflation or devaluation or whatchacallit that happened when we went to a closed system.

Or maybe it's because they don't have to worry someone will go to a foreign team anymore. And none of them are paying to recruit foreign players, either.

That's just the thing - not to say that Wood and Cumberland aren't good, but the scouts used to be able to pull talent from the continent, or even from places like South America. So they have a lot less to choose from, basically. Imagine not just having the Wasps and Puddlemere fighting over you, but teams in Germany and Spain, too.

That'd be snitch, I guess. But I don't know. You'd have to speak German or Spanish, I guess.

And I guess I can't really imagine living anyplace else. Another country, I mean.

I think it's sort of good that people don't move so far away from their families now. I mean, I guess Charlie's about as far from home as you can get now, and it seems pretty far, but I wouldn't want him to live in China or Romania or Norway or someplace like that. Like dragon handlers used to do. We'd never see him then.
