Sorry I didn't write last night. I came home and had to answer all Mum's questions and then I went upstairs to change and fell asleep. I mean totally asleep for the night.
It's not like they even made me do anything yesterday. It was just filling out loads of forms--that took all morning between listening to all the instructions for every question and switching to all the different special inks they make you use for different forms--and listening to all the rules and laws and protocols and chain of command details that I'd already promised to follow in all those forms. And then I got a tour.
That's it. Oh, and I got a badge.
Today I get introduced to all the Auror units and learn what they do. And then Desai's going to take me down to the sparring dungeons to see what I can do.
So, yeah. Hope you did alright yesterday, both of you.

Date: 2013-12-24 01:36 pm (UTC)Sorry I didn't call last night. I told Mum I'm going to go to the Strettons after work, so I'll see you then.
Mum's really been better about it than I thought she'd be. So far.
I've got to get going, I guess. At least Desai didn't want me to come for any of the early morning sparring they all do. I've just got to be there by eight, but there's always a jam up for the Floos, so yeah. Got to start a bit early.
See you tonight. After Mrs S closes things down for the night, probably, since I expect it's still mad, isn't it?. Anywiz, before you go to Pansy's. I want to give you your present.

Date: 2013-12-24 03:55 pm (UTC)I say, mine was much the same! Tonnes of policies to read, a tour, introductions to loads of people whose names I can barely remember today and then I was put to some filing. Do you suppose they have a manual for orienting new interns that all departments follow?
I'm well curious to see what this place is like when it's not a holiday. So far this morning the division have exchanged presents and all raided a conference room on the third floor because the heard there were scones and tea. Mr Pontner is taking them all to lunch later and he said I should come. There are only five people in his office proper but they said they work with other departments all the time. In fact, one of the chaps I met yesterday is in Communications, what. He said he has a project for next week for me but he's not ready to hand it over just yet.
I'm sure your brother knows him but after our exchange last night, I am not bally we keen to consult him. I expect I might do better not taking his assessment of his former coworkers, what. I say, is he always so...testy? Sally-Anne, I can't think much of Auror Lamont if you're correct about them.
At any rate, there hasn't been much work done today but they seem a cosy lot. One witch even told me that although it's an out-of-the-way department, the advantages are clear. 'For one thing, no Councilwizards looming about!' she said. Then she blushed and apologised hastily, what, and said she hoped I wasn't offended. I suppose the whole Ministry know about my association to Hydra. I say, I expect that's a jolly good thing as it presumes loyalty. They obviously believe she and her mother are more alike than complete opposites, what!
Well, I hope today's deliveries go well for you, Sally-Anne. And Ron, maybe we could manage a tea break together Thursday or Friday?
