They didn't say anything about parcels through firechat until just now, correct? You actually ought to thank your housemate for alerting the Ministry to a danger they hadn't yet thought of, since you're apparently taking the epidemic so seriously now yourself.
Malfoy, it's obvious. If they'd meant us to get stuff from outside the school through the fires, they'd have said, 'No parcels will be allowed by post, but by all means, feel free to hand your children care packages through the fires.' I mean, did your Mum send you stuff through the Floo? No. She knows that's not okay. Did Hydra's father? No. Same reason. And now none of us can talk to our parents because Lav's got no more brains than a newt.
