Distance Flying Club

I was talking to people who came along to Hampstead today, and we decided we should go ahead with this, so anywiz...
Anyone who wants to do some distance flying--well, any Hogwarts student, that is--I'm getting up an expedition on Thursday, 5 July. We'll leave at 10 o'clock from the observatory at the top of Greenwich Park--you can get to Greenwich by Floo and anyone there can tell you how to find the park, yeah? Bring a lunch and the usual kit--a jumper or something in case it's cool and rain robes 'cause you never know.
It's about 60 miles broomback to Rye, where we're going, down the coast. Should take a couple of hours. Well, three-ish, assuming everyone who comes has got brooms with enough power to make the trip. (So, yeah, maybe don't come along if you're not sure your broom's up for it. Or if you don't think you can sit a broom that long.)
When we get there, we'll do some agility training, which will be good for those of us in CCF and fun for anyone else who wants to come along. Good for people going out for Quidditch, too, really.
If you don't want to fly back to Greenwich afterwards, you can Floo home from there. We'll go rain or shine.
And if people like it, we could do a few more before CCF starts, like on the 12th and the 26th. I'm in New London with YPL on the Thursday between those, but someone else could lead, if they wanted.

Re: I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good Private Message to Pansy
Date: 2012-06-30 03:18 pm (UTC)It's for Harry.
And we might not be able to do all that much, you know, in the grand scheme of things, but we can give him lots of things to do that take him out of the castle and do it in a way that make him seem to other people like he's in charge, which makes them happy. Draco's hoping he'll eventually start really leading things, and that this'll help with that too, but I just want to give him a chance to be with friends this summer instead of getting stuck in a place he doesn't want to be with someone who tried to make him do something awful and might try it again.
And it's not just that, of course, it makes us all look better, and gives us all a chance to have a bit of fun, but even if it was just for Harry, it'd be worth it.
I got a brief note from Pig -- they're keeping her busy, and are still angry about the Healer thing, but they aren't locking her up and she's hoping if she's on her best behaviour, they'll let her come to play Quidditch at the Burrow so she can visit her mum. I think they let her write it so I wouldn't send Harry over personally to fetch her, but she seemed okay. You could write her too if you wanted. I'm sure she'd like hearing from you, even if she couldn't write much back.
